Great Southern Cross - Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: - Camden – Milawa – Wangaratta – Warrnambool

Breakfast at Curtis Aviation

Lunch at Milawa.
Milawa is home to Brown Brothers Vineyard. A small tour of Brown Brothers, a look at the town and lunch at the vineyard.

Pick up fuel at Wangaratta.

A scenic flight over the 12 Apostles.

Night stop at Warrnambool.

Warrnambool is home to Logans beach were southern right whales come to give birth during the winter months.


Day 2: - Warrnambool – Kangaroo Island.

A tour of the Tower Hill State Game Reserve, which has a crater of an extinct volcano.

Lunch at Warrnambool.

Depart for Kangaroo Island.

Night Stop at Kangaroo Island.

Day 3/ Day 4: - Day –Off

Hire Cars organised, self drive tours around the island.

Sites to see Australian Sea Lions, New Zealand fur Seals, Paul’s Farm, Great scenery and fairy penguins.

Day 5: - Kangaroo Island – Ceduna – Nullarbor Motel.

Lunch and fuel stop at Ceduna.

Fly around the start of the Great Australian Bight. (Whale watching, at the right time of the year whales give birth to their young at the start of the Bight).

Land on a road at Nullarbor Motel. (Night Stop)

Day 6: - Nullarbor Motel – Caiguna – Esperance.

Lunch and fuel stop at Caiguna.

Night Stop Esperance

Day 7: - Esperance – Margaret River.

National bird Sanctuary to be advised check with RS.

Fuel and rest stop at Albany, check out the world’s largest whaling Museum.

Night stop at Margaret River.

Day 8: - Day Off: - Margaret River

Many different things to do. You could go to some of the world famous wineries, shop for superb craftwork, and sample unusual cheeses climb into caves at Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park or visit a marron (yabby) farm.

Day 9: - Margaret River - Jandakot.

Depart 0930 from Margaret.

Day/ Night Discover Perth.

Day 10: - Day Off.

Discover Fremantle.

Day 11: - Jandakot – Geraldton – Shark Bay.

Lunch and fuel stop at Geraldton.

Night Stop at Shark Bay.

Stay at Monkey Mia where wild dolphins swim up to the Warf, Fish feeding.

Day 12: - shark Bay – Mount Magnet – Kalgoorlie.

Depart mid morning.

Lunch and fuel stop at Mount Magnet.

Night stop Kalgoorlie. Staying in the British Arms Hotel, which is the narrowest hotel in Australia.

Day 13: - Kalgoorlie – Carnegie Homestead.

Gold mine tour in the morning.

Lunch at Kalgoorlie.

Night stop Carnegie homestead.

Carnegie Homestead is a real Outback Australian farm with a lot of character. It consists of 1 million acres in the little Sandy Desert. They graze 6000 cattle and have interesting means in round the cattle up.

Day 14: - Carnegie Homestead – Warburton Range - Ayers Rock.
Explore the farm and maybe have a go at rounding up cattle in 4WD.

Depart after lunch

Fuel stop at Warburton Range.

Night Stop at Ayers Rock.


Day 15: - Day Off

Discover Ayers Rock and the Olgas.

Day 16: - Ayers Rock – Kings Creek Station – Alice Springs.

Depart mid morning.

Lunch at Kings Canyon.

Arrive Alice Springs.

Day 17: - Day Off

Hire Cars available.
Discover Adelaide House, Radio Hut, the Aviation Museum, and the Desert Park.

Day 18: - Alice Springs – Oodnadatta – Arkaroola.

Depart 0930.

Lunch at Oodnadatta. (The Pink roadhouse for lunch).

Night stop at Arkaroola.

Day 19: - Day – Off.

Discover Arkaroola.

Arkaroola is a wild life sanctuary, with rocks to be older than 1000 million years.
Things to do are - Crystal Quartz Mountain (Only one of its kinds in
The world).
- Paralana Hot Springs (the last vestige of active
Volcanism in Australia).
- The Arkaroola Astronomical Observatory.

Day 20: - Arkaroola – Broken Hill – Mungo Lodge.

Depart 0930.

Arrive Broken Hill for lunch and fuel.

Night Stop Mungo Lodge.

Day 21: - Mungo Lodge – Dubbo – Camden.

Depart mid morning.

Dubbo for lunch and fuel.

Sydney Harbour Scenic.

Camden.
